Rube Goldberg Machine Runs
The Rube Goldberg machine has finally watered a plant. After a lot of trial and error in rather warm conditions, the machine was run and videoed on March 31.
NAE GLOBAL CHALLENGE
The NAE challenge is to build a Rube Goldberg machine and film it in operation. If you don't know what one is, it's a complicated machine that does a simple task... a machine made famous by the cartoonist Rube Goldberg in the 1920s.
We are trying to involve students from across Ks3 and Ks5 in building something cool outside the workshops.

Equipment was shipped to us from the UK and installed over the Summer vacation, including new sanders, band saws and a new laser.
A NEW WORKSHOP: A21
A lot has happened over the Summer vacation. Builders knocked through three small mathematics classrooms to create a new workspace for D&T. They were followed by technicians from Technology Supplies UK who came to instal new equipment. As well as a new band saw, pillar drill, sanding machines and Hegners, they also brought out a Denford CAD router which is being commissioned at the moment and we are looking forward to seeing it in operation shortly. They also installed a new A2 laser which does particularly high quality engraving.
We have also been joined by a third D&T teacher. Mr Richard has come over from Regents in Pattaya to add his expertise to the department.
